The band Pride Fails is headlining and helping put on a benefit show for Christmas House at Sidekicks in Everett. Cover is a suggested donation of $5 or a toy. Special Guests: Red the Dead. There will also be a raffle of some great prizes with all proceeds benefitting Christmas House. Sidekicks is located at 1709 Hewitt Ave. Must be age 21+ to attend. Come join us!

Volunteers Refurbish Bikes for Christmas House

View the Nov. 18 HeraldNet.com article … Sharing Wheels hosts a series of work parties where volunteers fix up bicycles, which are donated to Christmas House as gifts for children. Anyone who would like to help fix up donated bicycles can help. All levels of mechanical abilities are welcome from the professional mechanic to spit-and-polishers. Volunteers are needed 1-7 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through November. Sharing Wheels is at 2525 Broadway, in Everett. Just a few more days to go before moving into the gym Thanksgiving weekend and setting up the Christmas House Store. Do you have a few hours of time to help us with the tasks ahead? We are in great need of volunteers this year and ask that you pass the word to family, friends, coworkers, teachers, students, etc. Time spent at Christmas House is a rewarding experience and a great way to celebrate the holiday season. NEW Volunteer Opportunity for Santa’s Workshop Elves

We need helpers that can dedicate two or three weekdays (or more!) each week we are open in December to help restock shopping tables with items from the back area. Must also be available on Tues/Wed, Nov 27/ 28 (one or both) to help with set-up and become familiar with your designated section. Must be available for shifts from 9 am to 2 pm, able to lift 20 pounds, bend over frequently, work on your feet, and be reliable and committed. Specific tasks and registration for these positions will be handled separately through christmashouseelves@yahoo.com. Please include your name and phone number, and a Director will get back to you.

The Board of Directors has firmed up the schedule for Nov/Dec 2012 and online registration to help with move-in/set-up/store shifts/pack-up/move-out is now available. (Read our VOLUNTEER page and then choose REGISTER on the sidebar.) Our major move-in will be SUNDAY, Nov. 25 (not Sat, as in previous years) and move-out is Saturday, Dec. 22. We have over 1,180 volunteer spots available, so pass the word along to friends and family! We hope you’ll be able to join us!

Computer/Tech Help Needed

Christmas House relies heavily on using their computers to check-in the shoppers and track all the information needed on shopper families. We are in need of a volunteer to help with the computer programming, setting up the computers in late November and troubleshooting any difficulties experienced during the month of December. If you have IT experience and are interested in volunteering, please email volunteer@christmas-house.org for more information. You will be working with another IT specialist who currently volunteers, but will be unavailable during December.

Storage Space Needed

The Christmas House buyers will be out hunting for sales and bargains all during the year…shopping for our 2013 Christmas House store. We stretch our dollars further by shopping sales year-round, but need space to store the gifts. We are looking for 1,000 square feet of secure, dry space that would be available from Christmas – December 1, 2013. E-mail president@christmas-house.org for more info.
